In 2006 the first edition.  600 kilometers off-road, on new routes each year and designed to give participants the opportunity to "explore" different areas of cultural and landscape interest in Sardinia. The route is not marked or signposted, and the competitors must find the right way through the use of the road book or GPS Tracks. Like in rallies.

The Sardegna Legend Rally is a pure off-road navigation event, the only major preparatory school for participation in a "real" Rally. The Route and the road books are elaborated by the same persons in charge of the "Sardegna Rally Race" route.

Of the World Championship, the "Legend" has the same DNA, but a lower coefficient of difficulty. Scheduled over 3 stages, the Sardegna Legend Rally is the Bike Village "Crossover" event, a unique non-competitive event of its kind, to be experienced intensely, more and more exciting from year to year. The atmosphere is, logically, more relaxed than that of the "Sardegna Rally Race",

the bivouacs are replaced by the now famous refreshment points and the "awarding" is a big final party with a barbecue, perhaps on the beach. The organization is complex, participants admitted no more than 120-150 depending on the layouts.

Every year there is at least one guest of honor, a legend like  Cyril Neveu, Cyril Depres, Thierry Charbonnier.
